What Is EFT Tapping?

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), often called tapping, is a gentle method that combines focused attention with light tapping on specific points on the body.

It’s designed to help calm the nervous system, reduce emotional intensity, and create a sense of greater steadiness and clarity.

Many people find that when the body feels calmer, it becomes easier to think clearly, respond differently, and feel less overwhelmed.

How EFT Can Help

EFT is often used to support people who feel:

• emotionally overwhelmed

• stuck in repeating stress patterns

• caught in worry, fear, or frustration

• disconnected from their body or sense of calm

Rather than trying to “think your way out” of stress, EFT works with both the mind and the body to help you shift how experiences are felt, not just how they are understood.

What a Session Is Like

Sessions are calm, conversational, and move at a pace that feels safe for you.

You’ll be guided to gently focus on what feels most present while using simple tapping techniques. You’re always in control of how much you share, and we adjust as needed throughout.

Many people describe feeling lighter, clearer, or more grounded after a session.

Is EFT Evidence-Based?

EFT has been studied in areas such as stress, anxiety, and emotional wellbeing. Some research has explored how EFT may support emotional regulation and reduce stress-related responses in the body.

The info-graphic here highlights findings from specific studies looking at stress markers and emotional symptoms. Individual experiences vary, and EFT is best viewed as a supportive tool rather than a replacement for medical or psychological treatment.

What EFT Is Not

EFT is not hypnosis, and you don’t need to “believe in it” for it to work.

It’s not about forcing positive thinking or pushing feelings away. Instead, we gently acknowledge what’s there and help the nervous system settle.

A Gentle First Step
